Details:
Negotiation plays an important role in all Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). This negotiations training workshop provides an in-depth introduction to the practice of Principled Negotiation and related concepts, rules, and practices. The use of negotiation strategies inside and outside mediation and within multi-party settings is explored. Participants can learn strategic negotiation practices and helpful labour relations negotiation techniques. By the end of the training, participants should have a sound knowledge of the conceptual underpinnings of negotiation and have acquired skills to:
- Understand, apply and critically evaluate the conceptual and theoretical background to negotiation.
- Evaluate the main strategies and tactics appropriate for different negotiation contexts.
- Prepare and participate in both simple and complex negotiations.
- Analyze the process and outcomes of negotiation.
- Apply ethical conduct to negotiation situations.
- Become aware of ethical and cultural issues present in the negotiation.
- Describe the positive and negative aspects of practices and discourses on negotiation.
